In basketball it’s called a fake, in war a smoke screen, and in magic we call it slight of hand
MORE CASH FOR THE PENTAGON
Just recently the Congress hammered-out a bi-partisan compromise spending bill. At the heart of the bill is a massive increase in military spending.
The leaders at the Pentagon were elated. Let us not forget to mention those who will profit the most, feeding off the government ‘gravy train’.
Ever wonder how much of that increase for the military goes toward multi-million dollar salaries for the weapons manufacturers. Think about their CEO’s, other high paid executives, palatial infrastructures, lavish expense accounts, and easy money for share holders; at the expense of working families, through their tax dollars. I think we are all well aware of how much this funding imbalance deteriorates the quality of American life.
It’s not so well known that the average CEO for an arms contractor makes about 25 million dollars a year. Then consider the executive staff under them… you can bet they don’t come cheep. And, let us not forget their lavish expense accounts.
Those executives don’t fly anything less than first class, or stay in five star hotels. Their working lives are lavished with luxury. Yet, at the same time the people that serve us in the military are feeding their families with food stamps
President Trump is insisting on putting on a full blown military parade. Of course the media and the public are totally consumed with the cost of such an ostentatious spectacle…
Ya know… we are always told that we should worry about big government. Well, the Pentagon is the biggest employer in the world. A large percentage of their money goes into the pocket of weapons manufacturers, and their shareholders. Talk about makin’ easy money by ‘rolling’ the tax payers.
Then politicians in Washington get their kick-back in the form of campaign donations. This assures their job security for the best payin’ part-time jobs with benefits on the planet. Plus, don’t forget, politicians are also share holders in those same arms companies… an ‘around the corner’ form of insider trading.
So this is where the slight of hand comes in. President Trump is insisting on putting on a full blown military parade; tanks and rocket launchers grinding up the streets of Washington. Of course the media and the public are totally consumed with the cost of such an ostentatious spectacle… completely obscuring the biggest military increase in nearly a decade.
Ya know, patriotism runs deep in our nations people. But, if they ever gave this some serious consideration… well, what more can I say.
